Wanted a place for his own notebooks that felt like paper.
Our story
Aether began as a private tool: a notebook that opened like a book, saved every keystroke, and followed its writer between a laptop, a phone and a desktop. It grew into a bindery anyone can use.
To give memoirs, journals, novels, family recipes and field notes the weight, layout and permanence of a bound volume, while keeping it as easy to start as opening a blank page. Aether should feel like sitting down at a warm desk, not opening an app.
Everything you write is downloadable as PDF, ePub, Word or plain text, any time, with no lock-in.
No streaks, no badges, no engagement loops. A lamp, a page and a shelf that fills as you go.
Location, clock and calendar access are opt-in, explained plainly, and revocable in settings.
We would rather ship one page turn that feels like paper than ten panels nobody opens.
